The Liaison Office of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen/South Tyrol
1995: Institution of the Office in the framework of the common Representation of the European Region on the basis of a cooperation agreement between Alto Adige, the Chamber of Commerce of Bozen, the Trento Chamber of Commerce and the Liaison Office of the Land Tyrol, for the creation of a common "economic window" in Brussels.
1996: Opportunity for the Italian Regions and the Autonomous Provinces to set up their own office or a representation in cooperation with other regions at the European Institutions.
1998: Integration of the legislative disposition which allowed Regions and Autonomous Provinces to establish liaison offices together with all regions and institutions adhering to the European Union within the framework of transboundary cooperation or international treaties.
The Office of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen/South tyrol has had more than ten years of successful experience, thanks to which South Tyrol is well positioned within the European Region.
Concrete tasks of the Office in Brussels: contacts, network, platforms, cooperation, sustainment, campaign of sensibilization
The duties of the office are various:
- Creation and management of contacts and networks with other European Regions, as well as representatives of European Institutions such as the Parliament, the Commission, the Council of Europe and the Committee of the Regions;
- Status of platform to use synergies in cooperation with partners of Tyrol and Trentino as well as other offices of regional connection in Brussels and the European Institutions;
- Accompanying and supporting public institutions, enterprises and citizens in the contact with the European Institutions to incentivize the process of European integration;
- Attendance of conferences and seminars on European issues and relative report to be shared with the interested representatives in South Tyrol.
- Finding contacts in order to organize institutional, cultural and promotional events;
